The belt itself is very well built, could be used stand-alone if my regular belt breaks. As for its intended use, the velcro is strong but not to strong that its hard to pull apart. If you were still wondering, the belt is made with the hook side of velcro, for battle belts with the pile side. Also, it was shipped 5 days earlier than expected.
